How do I stop birds from eating the stuffing out of my new patio furniture?

How do you get birds out of the exhaust leading from the house?

How should I go about getting rid of them?
I already bought some wire gauge to cover it, cleaning won’t be a problem. The problem is getting the birds in there right now out, which I don’t know how to do.
