I am helping my daughter make a bird feeder for our backyard and we wanted to put some homemade birdfood in it instead of the generic store bought ones. Does anyone know what the most common birds are in SoCal and what they eat?

I found a birds nest in my workshop in a corner between the ceiling joists. I could hear the babies chirping. I don’t want to cause them any harm or anger the momma, but I need them out of my workshop. Any ideas on a humane and easy way to get them relocated?

How do I stop birds eating the putty round my window frames?

Richard asked:
Hi, Is there a specific product (available in the UK) that anyone would recommend for coating putty round window frames to prevent birds from pecking and removing the putty. Thanks!
If it could be brown or black in colour that’d be useful as it would go with the colour of the timeber windows.
