I admire beautiful birds in the wild, but can not live with the thought of one of them landing on me or flapping around me.

I can not walk through avaries, and found a similar feeling when I walked through the butterfly house at the zoo. I freaked out when a butterfly landed on me.

Anyone else like me or am I a freak? LOL
LOL - I knew that someone would pick up and call me a freak!

   I dont know if theres a name for this phobia, but youre not alone. Im scared of all animals…

   Im the same.
   Thanks for that i thought i was the only one.
   I **** all things flying.
   I once landed in a wasp nest on my bike as a kid and got stung lots of times.
   Now im scared to death of them all.
   Walking thriugh a town with pigeons is the worst, they are used to people and im not used to them. They are all over the place.
   No way i could have walked thru the butterfly house, NO WAY!

   you are mot alone. every one must be scared of something even batman in the show ‘Batman begins’ but came of it!! when i’m scared, i would pray to God to help me over come them. like i’m afraid of the dark so i prayed and ask someone to go to that place with me.

   birds are more scared of you, if you walked up to one it would fly away the only ones that come around you are bats and that’s only because of your hair that lets them know that there’s blood, so don’t be scared.

   I am not scared of all birds, but seagulls freak me out. A flock of them attacked me on a beach and took my hot dog when I was a kid. But your condition is known as ornithophobia. Search for it in Yahoo Search Engine. There’s a lot of sites about it.

   No, you’re not alone, I get totally freaked out about pigeons especially when you’re walking round the town centre and they are all in a line across the street.
   Also a seagull stole my dummy when I was 2!

    I am wondering if you were bite by a bird or something for you to have this fear. I could never imagin my life without having a bird on my shoulder or somewhere nearby. Maybe your fear is like mine over snakes. I never was afriad of them until I was bit by one, now if I see a snake I dont stop running until I am in my house.
    What you need to do is get someone who breeds birds and just hold a baby bird, one that doesnt have all their feathers and does not bite, you may find that after holding one that you shouldnt be afraid of them. Wild birds are not going to land on your and bite you. The most that could happen is if you walk under a tree that the birds are protecting, they may swoop down toward you as a warning, but they will not land on you or bite you, all they are trying to do is scare you away from their nest. I rather have the birds do that to me instead of being chased down the road by my neighbors Pit Bull.
